The Tovolo King Cube ice tray was cheap. I wanted large ice cubes for whiskey and carbonated beverages to reduce fizzing. I didn't have high expectations for silicone kitchenware that cost less than eight bucks. Imagine my surprise when a sturdy, heavy-weight and intelligently designed ice tray appeared on my doorstep two days later! The inside corners are "cut off" at an angle, meaning the cubes slide straight out without sticking or breaking like I've experienced with other trays. I haven't seen any of the filming or taste issues experienced by other reviewers. I wash and scrub the tray after every few refills and only use refrigerator-filtered water so that may make a difference, barring actual empirical evidence.

Okay. I was raised next to a chemical plant and I will not have one in my house! Regardless, how these things are washed or with what you can expect a very heavy chemical taste in your ice cubes. Even when they are dry and sitting at room temperature you can smell the same odor that is transferred to the ice. DO NOT BUY PEOPLE! ! !

The size of the cubes is great if you are having a whiskey on the rocks. I would recommend only filling them 2/3 of the way in order to free them from the tray easier.
